Salon

  • Kay Gilbert

The love for my craft started at an early age, being the youngest of 3 girls, I helped with prom hair when it was time for my older sisters. Fast forward to 2007 and I fell in love with biology. I started a biology degree, and it took failing Zoology with flying colors to realize where my heart still was. With the insight from my mom and grandmother, I decided to finish at UNCC with a business management degree in hopes of opening my own salon one day. Graduation from UNCC was in 2012, and I enrolled in cosmetology school the following fall at RCCC. I’ve been in the industry for six, almost seven, years. I have truly found my home behind the chair.

For over 20 years, I’ve been in the beauty industry. I have worked on countless photoshoots, weddings and fashion shows. I honestly feel so blessed when I think back on every milestone of my career. One of the biggest highlights of my career is when a client sits in my chair and I get to teach them about how their hair works and what best suits them for their unique hair goals. I tell my clients that I’m their “hair doctor” so they understand this isn’t just a hair appointment but an actual service where they learn the information and tools to make their hair the very best it can be. I truly just love the beauty industry and all that comes with it.

  • Tracy Bowen

I have been practicing Massage and Bodywork since 2016 and feel so grateful to work in a profession that I am passionate about. When I can help a client feel better, my day is made! I use a combination of techniques and cater specifically to the clients’ needs and preferences. Therapeutic work such as frozen shoulder, hip misalignment, and plantar fasciitis are just a few conditions that can commonly be misdiagnosed. I take great pride in being able to correct these, applying my experience and training. Sessions may include stretching, range of motion testing, walking gait analysis, deep tissue massage, Swedish and relaxation focus, cupping, and sports massage
